Hoerbiger has made changes to the compression side of its organizational structure. Former business units — Compressor OEM Business Area and Compressor Service Business Area — have become divisions and form the new Compression Technology Strategic Business Unit, managed by Udo Bauer, the new unit’s CEO. The company’s board of directors also appointed Bauer to the Hoerbiger Holding AG’s executive board.
According to Hoerbiger, these changes to the Compression Technology business activities focus on the demands of international markets as well as the customer benefits of components and services for the oil, gas and process industries.
The Engine and Safety businesses also became independent divisions, reporting to CEO Jürgen Zeschky. Hannes Hunschofsky will manage both divisions, with the Safety Division transferring to Thorsten Kahlert on April 1, 2017. Hunschofsky’s experience includes serving as chief operation officer (COO) for the Compression Technology Strategic Business Unit since 2012, as well as working in the OEM business at GE Jenbacher and the service business at August Storm GmbH & Co. KG.
Kahlert spent more than 13 years in various roles at Boston Consulting Group, serving most recently as partner and managing director in Munich, Germany. In this role, he also served as an advisor to Hoerbiger, and had a role in developing the safety business. Kahlert was also a part of the acquisitions of the IEP Technologies, Newson Gale and Brilex brands that took place in 2015 and 2016.
